Airmed is a spin off from the Balfegó Grup, a European leader in fishing and management of bluefin tuna farms. In 2017 Balfegó had a workforce of 300, with an annual turnover of 60M. Balfegó started its activities in 2004 tracking bluefin tuna banks in the Mediterranean sea. That same year the company started its flight activities and in-house aircraft maintenance activities, incorporating high tech sensors and specializing in aerial survey.
